I write from more than 30 years of personal and practical experience owning, breeding, training and rehoming dogs. I previously held the licences required for my breeding activity and later moved from hands-on work into dog-owner education after a back injury. I am the author of Barking Up the Right Tree: A Real Dog Owner’s Handbook. I am not a veterinarian, clinical animal behaviourist or solicitor; my health, behaviour and legal articles provide general education and identify the external sources I used.

My experience, without inflated claims

My perspective comes from more than 30 years owning, breeding, training and rehoming dogs, plus the ordinary problem-solving that long-term ownership demands. I previously held the licences required for my breeding activity and moved into dog-owner education after a back injury.

I do not describe myself as a veterinarian, clinical animal behaviourist or solicitor. On health, behaviour and legal pages, I identify those limits, link to authoritative sources and direct readers towards qualified individual help.
